If Whedon fans are half the feminists they claim Joss is, then they need to stop being so effing dismissive of valid concerns.
Even if everything they say about the show's purpose is spot on, the more I hear things like
"Joss got an award from Equality Now, and they should know!/His previous shows were feminist, so obviously this is!"
the more it's starting to annoy the bejeesus out of me. Every go around it sounds more like but Joss is a card carrying feminist and he understands feminism better than all you stupid women ever will.

Date: 2009-02-19 02:54 pm (UTC)Because "Dollhouse" does have some valid squicky issues, whether you want to blame the writing or the network or something else for it. There should be room to discuss why without getting into "so you're calling Joss Whedon a sexist?!"

Date: 2009-03-29 07:41 pm (UTC)Anyway, I'm not here for that, I'm here to suggest you post a picture for Sweet Charity, because I'm suspecting that people aren't aware of just how cool paper beads look.
Pardon my intrusion on your journal, and also pardon my using a sock to do it, but I'm hiding from a non-fandom related troll and I really don't want to lead it to an innocent stranger's journal.
