He's younger than me.

He is considerably younger than me.

I really don't think I like that.

(I mean aside from the whole, can a 26 year play a nine hundred year old alien? thing, it's making me feel old. *cries* )

I'm really uncertain about him, but the montage they played of his previous work has mollified me enough that I've moved on from my initial reaction of Oh the Fuck No.

I am mourning Patterson Eleven though.

(A why so little of Six and Seven in the Who Through the Ages? *Sulks*)

The age thing is probably the only thing that bother me at this point, though really, I'm not gonna let it stop me from watching, I'll wait till he's the doctor to judge.
But he's really REALLY young for the doctor.
I can aleady imagine a scene of Ten2/Rose meeting him and making fun of the new doctor poking his cheeks or something ahahah.

Oh yes. Now I'm over my initial reaction I'm going reserve judgement until I've seen him in action. (I'm sure some of the people posting about how they're not going to watch the new series with him, are the same people who ranted about Tennant/Matha/Donna and ended up loving them.

Personally I'd love to see Eleven with Donna, I think she'd be hilarious. But then I just want Donna back full-stop.

OMG! Eleven/Donna has so much potential ! why did RTD have to wipe her memory ? That would be fantastic ! she already called Ten 'Dumbo', what would she call Eleven ? "Teddybear" ?

I think I'm quite sad cause I really love Tennant as the doctor and it's hard to see him go, even if Eleven is fantastic, it'll take some time to adjust to him, but the age can maybe a set for very good jokes. :D

I bet there'll be an entire body of fanfic devoted to the Alt 11th, Paterson Joseph! Everyone was so convinced it would be him, and pretty pleased about it.

I'm now older than all of the Doctors have been on their initial appearance. I'm not going to let age worry me - whether he can act is a more important issue, of course.

Someone has pointed out that he's only two years older than the actress who plays his clone daughter Jenny, and WAY too young for River Song unless she's going to appear in one of the 2009 specials with the current Doctor.

I think there's three main things everybody eventually learns with Doctor Who.

1. Companions move on/get left behind/occasional die. There is no One True Companion. (Although I think there's still some Rosefen in denial).

2. No Doctor is forever. Regeneration happens, get over it. (And again I know there are old school fans who are in denial about this, let alone people who started with Nine/Ten)

3. One day the Doctor will be younger than you. I just didn't think it was going to be this regeneration.

(And good point about his daughter. You know that could be quite interesting if done right.)

Everyone bangs on about Paterson Joseph, but aside from Neverwhere (which was twelve years ago) everything he's done since has been seriously underwhelming.
