Really quick update as I should be in bed.
We had our Nth scan and consultants appointment today. The twins are growing well, both seem to have exceedingly long legs, with twin 2's femur length measuring off the charts. I think they're obviously going to be more like Owen in body shape than Cullyn.
The little buggers have decided that having spent the whole pregnancy head down, they'd chenge the view a bit, and twin 1 is now breech and twin 2 is oblique (diagonal across my belly). Fortunately my new consultant is happy to still allow me to go for a vaginal delivery, although we're making more of a comprimise on the whole monitoring situation. I'm hoping they'll turn again before they are born, as I really would like not to be hooked up to machines, because although I know I can still move about, and dictate what position I labour in, it is a hell of a lot easier without the wires.
I have to say, I'm a lot more confident of labour going the way we'd like (circumstances permitting) rather than the way the doctor says it will go. Even if we get the dodgy consultant or registrar (and can you see me not begging for an induction Mr Arrogant Registrar?) I'm confident that wiht our discussions with our consultant and the Head of Midwifery behind us, we can say - "That's not happening unless there's a definite medical need." And if they don't want to listen they can fuck off.
Oh, and apparently both the girls have a full head of hair. I didn't know you could see hair on ultrasound.

not many american women even realize that they have that right. and even fewer use it!
How very exciting!
::keeping my fingers crossed that the girls turn back to vertex::

Do I know you?
Date: 2006-04-28 03:01 pm (UTC)Re: Do I know you?
Date: 2006-04-28 06:42 pm (UTC)Absolutely they ring bells, since I've known both of them for what must be about fifteen-sixteen years now; I shared a house with Malc for many of those, and I'll be going on holiday with Vato in a couple of months.
So, do I know you?

Date: 2006-04-28 06:55 pm (UTC)Small world indeed. Glad to see you're still functional; we never spoke much, but you always struck me as being one of the good guys. Say hi to Vato for me.
Re: Do I know you?
Date: 2006-04-28 09:49 pm (UTC)So how come you know
I will indeed say Hi to Vato (and Malc?) for you. Would you like me to pass on your LJ address to them when I see them?
Life in Cov is still much as it was. Did you know that

Re: Do I know you?
Date: 2006-04-28 10:22 pm (UTC)You see, the really weird thing is that a while after I friended Jo, her cousin
Do you ever come back to the UK at all? It'd be exceedingly good to see you again.

Date: 2006-04-28 09:44 am (UTC)Heheh. :) Of course I don't know much but I've heard that there are positions you can pose yourself in to encourage them to turn... I have *no* clue if it'll work for twins.
And wow! 12 days to go - congratulations on already making it to full term with twins - they're both going to be perfect. :)
Thinking of you.
