My Dad went into hospital this morning for a check up after some investigations they did a few weeks ago.

My sister just phoned - the hospital phoned Mum saying he'd taken a turn for the worse and had been moved into emergency care, and she needed to come back in immediately and to bring someone with her.

Doug's on his way home so I can go in and meet Mum and Juice at the Hospital.

Very freaked out at the moment.

Thank you to everyone who responded to my last post.

Dad had a heart attack this morning.  He'd gone in for the urology (sp?) clinic, had a whole battery of tests, (including an ECG) which flagged up no immediate problems.  He was in the Pharmacy department picking up a perscription when he collapsed.  By the time they got his heart beating properly again, they estimate he'd been without oxygen for between five and ten minutes. He's now in intesive care under heavy sedation, and they're keeping him cool at the moment, (they've got him under one of those blankets they blow the cool air through) trying to minimise the damage done.

At the moment they cannot give any kind of prognosis, we'll know more once they start bringing him out from under the sedation tomorrow morning.

At the moment I can't really say how I feel - it's a bit like being in limbo - it doesn't really seem real.  The worst bit was seeing him in intensive care - you know it's going to be bad, but that wasn't Dad. That wasn't my Daddy.
