Doctor Who - The Stolen Earth
Holy Fuck.
I did not see that coming at at all.
I haven't had time to post at all this series, but I've enjoyed it so much more than the last two seasons. I've fallen for Donna big time, and so wish that CT hadn't signed on for just the one season. (Plus it would be nice to have a TARDIS team survive intact for more than a year.) But I love the friendship & chemistry between Donna and the Doctor, they feel like they're interacting on much more of an equal basis.
But anyway, tonights episode.
Oh My God.
Torchwood! Martha! Sarah-Jane! (And it think it's also a sign how much more I've been into & enjoyed Torchwood this year, that if it had been last year, I would have been 'Meh, Torchwood' whereas I was "JACK! IANTO! GWEN! I'VE MISSED YOU!"
But Ianto, Paul O'Grady wasn't that funny.
Love Rose's Big Fuck Off Gun. Loved Rose. Loved that she was all super-competent, knowing, and then floundered and got petulant when she was shut out of the Doctor's exes club. Such a fallible human! (And really I thought her reaction was quite understandable - she crossed universes to get to the Doctor [albeit because the world was ending], and she knows Jack & Sarah-Jane, and they're not a threat, and knows all about Donna and has had time to adjust to her [platonic] relationship with the Doctor, but Martha, Martha's young and pretty and unknown, and the best of us are irrelevant and petty when we would least like to be).
But I'm sad that she didn't get meet Harriet again. And I hope she gets to met Martha next week, (And that SJS survives the Daleks, and joins physical reunion too).
Oh Donna. I'm so very scared for you. But you were as awesome as ever, and I don't want to lose you to a fob watch/self-sacrifice/memory-wipe/retcon/whatever, I really, really don't.
And the Daleks. Well it was an improvement on their last appearance, and Davros donating his own flesh was pretty horrid, I just wish Rusty had spaced their appearances out a bit more through the seasons.
Was I the only one kind of hoping that Donna was going to repeat the whole, "Really great hair' line when the Doctor was asking if Rose had said anything else? I would have loved to see his reaction.
I could barely watch the reunion run though, because seeing the distance, I knew, just knew that a Dalek was going to appear at the last minute and shoot Rose, AND HOLY FUCK IT SHOT THE DOCTOR. AND HE'S DYING, (and I know the Doctor's dying Jack, but some sort of surprise at Rose being there would have been nice) AND HE'S STILL DYING AND NOW HE'S GLOWING AND HE'S REGENERATING.

Please let there be a big giant reset button next week. Please. I haven't made my peace with losing DT yet. It's too soon. And normally I can't stand Rusty's deus ex machina, (And I think on balance I'd almost rather lose DT rather than suffer a second Tinkerbell Jesus!Doctor) but I'll take anything short of clap your hands if you believe in TImeLords.
